Stephanie
Instructor
I began instructing Zumba over nearly 2 years ago, getting my certificate in October 2013. Prior to that I had been participating in Zumba classes at my local gym since the beginning of 2013 – it was my new year’s resolution to start going to the gym and getting fit. I chose to participate in Zumba classes because I come from a dancing background: I have been dancing since I was 3 years old, and haven’t stopped since. Dancing is not only a part of my life but it is a part of who I am. To encourage me to join a gym, I thought attending Zumba classes would be the perfect motivation as it incorporates fitness into its dance-based style. And, it worked! But, it was actually my fellow members and participants of this Zumba class that I joined who convinced me to become an instructor.
Becoming a Zumba instructor is the best life decision I have made, ever! I have never felt happier in my life! The energy from the participants everywhere is great and it is the one place where you are guaranteed to not only get a great workout but to have loads of fun doing it that you forget you are working out!
The Zumba community that I have become a part of is the most welcoming community of all, there is support from every angle: from gyms and community centres (such as Springers), to participants and other instructors (locally, nationally or internationally). I love that I can do a job that gives me no end of happiness and that I can share with everyone around me; that helps me inspire people to keep fit, stay happy and enjoy life.
